Good morning,   Following our committee meeting last night I have been asked to let members know the current situation the Centre finds itself in with regard to carrying on and surviving into 2026. The Centre has to form a committee to be able to run – current Club requirements is as follows.  Chairman / Treasurer / Secretary and committee up to a total of 15.  Minimum to carry on is 5, of which should be Chairman/Treasurer and Secretary plus 2 committee.  This goes for committee meetings, less than 5 attending the meeting cannot undertake decisions, it’s just a discussion meeting. The Centre can have 1 or 2 Vice-Chairman from the committee numbers, and the Rally Secretary is also taken from committee numbers. We have run the last year with 9 committee members and it was indicated last night that 4 are undecided still, 4 are not standing for re-election, and one nomination was given for a committee position. Rally at Lessingham, 29 August to 4 September 2025. I have received information that unfortunately the marshals organising this rally are no longer able to do so. We are looking to see if anyone will come forward to take on this rally. We have received the news that on Monday 16th June Eric Gaffer passed away, after a short stay in hospital. Along with his wife Shirley, Eric was a long standing member and rallier with the Centre, with his son and daughter -in-law, Andy & Sally Gaffer following in his footsteps and regularly seen on rallies. We pass our sincere condolences to Andy, Sally and the rest of the family at this very sad time. We will share further information when it is available....

We have received information that the funeral for Wendy Noye is to be held on Monday 30th June at Ipswich Crematorium, off Colchester Road, at 2.15 p.m. Once we know any other details we will let members know. It is understood that any donations in her memory will go to the British Heart Foundation, further details awaited. ...

We have received the news that on Tuesday 27th May Wendy Noye sadly passed away. She had been unwell for some time. Graham Noye, with Wendy, is a very long standing member of the Centre, marshalling rallies and he was our Centre Chairman from 1989 - 1991. They remained very much involved with the Centre, Graham being a familiar face at all Centre AGM's, although trips out in the caravan became less over the last few years. Our sincere condolences will be passed to Graham and their family at this very sad time. Further information will be shared when it is available....

Good afternoon I have just received the following from Kim Berry regarding the funeral of her father, Terry Youngs. At this very sad time, I am sure the family would appreciate the support of all those Centre members who remember Terry from running many rallies for the Suffolk Centre, serving on the Committee and becoming Centre Chairman. Terry’s funeral service will take place at St Anne & St Lawrence Church, Elmstead Market, on Tuesday 25th March 2025 at 11:15 followed by a cremation at Weeley Crematorium at 12:30. On Sunday 9th February 2025, the Centre held its Natter and Chatter at Hallowtree. Roy Swain from East Anglian Air Ambulance gave a presentation on what this vital service does. At the end of the presentation, our Chairman, Ron King, presented him with a Helicopter Cheque for the sum of £1694.82p. ...

Qualifying dates for annual trophy and Fellowship plaques. Many members will know that the qualifying dates for these has been AGM to AGM, which is confusing for everyone involved. The committee has taken the decision to bring this in line with everything else in the Centre, to help for future job roles, so for the 2024 awards all rallies attended from post AGM 2023 to end December 2024 will qualify. The awards for 2025 will be from January-December 2025 rallies attended. This has made no difference to the order obtained for those in line for the Don Alcock Annual overall trophy - we made sure to check this first.
