WHAT IS A FELLOWSHIP PLAQUE?
A Fellowship Plaque is very similar to the rally plaque you receive on attending a rally, but is something introduced, some years ago, by Committee to recognise those members attending 18 or more rallies in any one year from AGM to AGM. In 2017 this was reduced to 15 or more rallies and in 2018 to 12. Whilst we do keep a record, from the attendance lists, you can complete the form, normally in the centre of the book, indicating the rallies attended and your claim. These are awarded at the Natter and Chatter meeting – usually held in February either against a rally or sometimes just a meeting on its own.
WHAT IS THE DON ALCOCK TROPHY?
Within the Centre a member may stand for the post of Chairman or Chairlady for a maximum of 3 years – there are no such restrictions on any other Officer or Committee member. Don Alcock was Chairman for two years covering 1991 to 1993 and on his
departure, gave this trophy to the Centre to be awarded to the member doing the most rallies in the year.
This has been presented every year since and those recipients are listed below. As you will see some have won it several times, and sadly some of our most active members are no longer rallying or no longer with us. Early achievements were in the 30+ rallies in a
year, by 2017 this is in the low 20+ per year.
The Committee thanks all those members, whether they join us for one rally a year or on a regular basis, for their ongoing support of the Suffolk Centre as we enter our 50 th year.
