It
was a
tremendous effort by the boys,
bearing in mind they had never
played as a team before.
Bradley Culf is still only 14 and
showed maturity beyond his years.
Louis and Adam were accomplished with
their performances and Sam was not
taking any nonsense from any of the
opposing sides. These lads were
complemented by the colossus, Nick
McCartney who was in goal.
The boys started group proceedings
with a 1 – 0 win against
Leicestershire, two 0 – 0 results
and finished with a 2 – 0 win
against Notts to win their group and
qualify for the Semi’s the following
day. Goals were scored by Bradley and
Louis. It was a great effort with no goals
conceded.

The next day saw the boys doing battle with
a very strong Derbyshire team. There
was a high-level
of vocal banter which was evident from both sets of
supporters, and we honestly thought that
lady luck was going to shine when Louis put
us 1 – 0 ahead. A tense time followed with
gamesmanship from Derbyshire, then the
sickening equaliser with less than 30
seconds to go. Penalties were the deciding
factor but it took sudden death to finish
the boys off. It was a gallant effort and we can’t
wait till next year to give it another good
go. Well done boys you did the centre
proud !!

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
