A Family Easter
Down on The Farm
Low Farm
Waldringfield
March 2008
It was a WHITE EASTER this year down on the
farm....
The rally was again organised with a
relaxed and friendly atmosphere. "The
boys" Bob and Michael helped with the
siting of vans all afternoon on Thursday
with a bitter north, north easterly wind
racing down the river with nothing to
block its path. Gloves and windproof
jackets were a must have.
As with previous
years, Rosanna, Bob, Sheena and Michael had
planned a family weekend with most of the
group activities in the small hall. Although
cosy at times, there was room to have
warming hot cross buns with plentiful cups
of tea and coffee on Friday morning followed
by "Bob's Bingo" on Friday evening.
The stakes were modest and the prizes were
welcome. Some of us were happy to break even
but it was worth attending just to hear Bob
get the numbers wrong now and again and drop
the odd bingo ball. We all enjoyed the
evening.
On Saturday, the
children were pleased to see the odd snow
flurry and although the radio weather
forecast had promised
heavy snow, we knew that this was a cautious
forecast and as we were near the coast it
may not materialise at all. But given time,
the snow came and by Sunday there was nearly
an inch of wet white snow, that thrilled
even the grown ups. cameras came out (except
I left mine at home again) and the children
were in their element. Snowmen appeared and
snowball fights were the order of the day.
The Sunday egg hunt was a great success and
I think all the eggs were found this year.
The thaw started to set in until the final
overnight chill. We reflected over last year
at Waldringfield when we were all walking
round the rally field with summer shorts and
barbecuing our dinner outside. What a
contrast !
Many thanks to
the rally marshals, Rosanna, Bob, Sheena and
Michael for running this family weekend of
fun.

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
