We just wanted to thank the marshals for
their hard work over the Easter weekend. |
On Thursday night they laid on tea,
coffee and biscuits. On Friday morning
there were hot cross buns and in the
evening there was a game of bingo.
Saturday morning came and people took
the opportunity to explore the local
area. The Berry's and Mattocks went to
Crown Pools to celebrate Bethany's
birthday and ended up in Pizza Hut
afterwards. Others chose to make an
Easter bonnet for the competition. On
Saturday evening there was a fun and
games night which ended up with a paper
aeroplane display/fight. Sunday
morning came and it was another lovely
day.

There was an
Easter Egg hunt in the morning - the adults
hid the Easter Eggs and Sheena moved quickly
out of the way as the children came out of
the hall to find them! People took the
opportunity to relax or enjoy more of the
local scenery.
On Sunday evening Flagpole was held where
the winners of the various competitions were
announced. That was followed by a family
quiz which was enjoyed by everyone. The
winning team, the Easter Enders, consisted
of the Berry, Mattocks, Eves and the Maples
families. We won a box of chocolates which
we kindly shared with everyone else! |

Thank you for a
lovely weekend.

Well what can I say....
We arrived at sleepy Waldringfield on
Thursday afternoon not knowing what to
expect as the village is so small.
We were very impressed, after turning in
through the gate we pulled on to a field
that seemed to go on forever, we were warmly
greeted by our marshals for the weekend and
shown to our pitch. After we set up the
caravan and erected the awning we sat back
waiting for our friends to arrive. The
evening was spent chatting with friends and
catching up on all the gossip.... as
usual !!

Friday
morning dawned to a lovely sunny day; the
arrival of the sun prompted me to drive home
and dust off the BBQ and a couple of pairs
of shorts. Needless to say that by the time
I got back on site the news of my BBQ and
shorts had frightened the sun away behind
the clouds.
Anyway, Trev did manage to capture me doing
the outdoor cooking over the weekend, even
if I didn't get to wear my shorts.

Friday
evening and it was time for a KFC followed
by a game of bingo the marshals had
organised in the hall, that was dominated by
Sheila and her table, then it was time for
me to go off to work, it’s not nice to have
to go into work during a rally but as they
say “work is the curse of the drinking
classes” especially when your “friends” are
sitting in an awning drinking beer and
cheekily waving as you drive off. |
|
I didn’t see much of Saturday
morning as I was sleeping after my night
shift, but when I surfaced at just after
midday the sun was shining and it was nice
to be able to sit outside in comfort.
Saturday evening and the marshals had
organised a night of games in the hall
including a bunny drive which was a
derivative of a beetle drive.

Sunday morning was bright and
sunny too, the children all gathered at the
marshals vans for the Easter egg hunt, there
were children running everywhere looking for
the plastic eggs, it was nice to see so many
children out on a rally. The afternoon sun
was so warm it prompted us and our friends
to take a quick drive down to the river,
which gave us a chance to let our dog Misjif
have some fun in the river, needless to say
she needed a shower when she got back to our
caravan.

Flagpole was held Sunday
evening; it was great to have it in the open
air and for it to still be warm. There were
loads of entries into the Easter bonnet and
decorated egg competitions, unfortunately
they could not all win, the judges certainly
had their work cut out picking a winner.
After flagpole the marshals had organised a
quiz night in the hall but we chose to have
a “quiet” get together in one of the
awnings.

Monday
morning was breezy but warm and sunny, and
it was time to pack up and go home.
Many thanks to our marshals, Sheena &
Michael McCartney and Rosanna & Bob Waterson
for putting on a superb rally. We hope to be
back next Easter.
