The
weekend of the 9th 10 and 11th
February 2007 saw a happy band of
caravanners gather at the ever popular venue
at Hallowtree Ipswich.
On arrival the site was still covered with
the ‘ white stuff ‘ that fell over Suffolk
on Thursday morning to the delight of many
Suffolk school children. The snow was short
lived as it was nearly all gone by late
Friday.
Friday night was a gathering
for the tea and coffee drinkers, to meet old
and new friends who hadn’t been seen since
before Christmas. So after a good chat off
to bed. Expecting a very cold night I lagged
the outside water barrel with a blanket to
stop it freezing but I need not have
bothered as it rained and the blanket just
got soaking wet. After a fairly quiet
Saturday, for us anyway (not the marshals).
We entered the hall to see all the tables
lined up and decorated with table cloths
with sparkly bits on and hanging from sky
hooks were large love hearts. (Philip how
did you reach to get them up ?)
At 7.30pm we had flagpole which was chaired
by Dave Totman and Tracy (sporting a new
number plate on her car just to confuse
every one). Dave had some trouble telling
everyone that if they had difficulty getting
off the rally field they would be assisted
in doing so. That’s what he meant anyway.
Plazma Disco entertained us with the music
and Graham took to the mic with style. (If
anyone took any photos of note and would
like them on the web site could they email
them to the Webmaster.) Cupid attended
during the evening and handed out valentine
cards, the gents were given roses to hand to
our loved ones. A raffle was held and a
grand sum was raised for deserving
charities. The Marshals fed us all with a
super ploughman's supper. Dancing and
merrymaking continued on in to the late
hours.
Sunday saw the budding Robin Hoods having a
go at archery , all trying to burst the
balloon on the target.
This ended a very enjoyable rally many
thanks to the marshals Helen & Philip
Proctor , Jan & Dave Stewart.

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
