We would like to pass on our sincere
thanks to: Stephen, Viv, Oliver And
Millie Harper Along with there
co-marshals: Ian And Ann Nicol for a
lovely weekend.
Stephen seemed to have
endless energy and spent the whole
weekend running around to make our
weekend that much more enjoyable. Having
marshaled rallies ourselves we know only
to well how much pressure it can put on
your family and friends especially with
young children in tow ! ! It makes
putting up the awning together seem a
walk in the park.
The fishing afternoon for the children
was good fun, especially as it was won
by Nicol Brinkoff who screamed out as
her "very" LARGE fish nearly took her
water skiing for the afternoon. In fact
the whole weekends fishing events seemed
dominated by the Brinkoff family as they
wiped the floor with us all ! But well
done to them all.
Saturday evenings
entertainment was held in a large
marquee. The marshals had borrowed it
from the Caravan Club but had to erect
it themselves so more hard unseen work
there. There was a singer who sung a lot
of old songs like Neil Diamond but new
songs too, for us to all relate to past
memories.
All in all, a fun packed
weekend in gorgeous weather all thanks
to our hard working rally marshals.
We understand it was Stephen And Viv's
first rally as main Marshal's and they
must of worked hard for weeks in advance
of the rally to fine tune it. We think
everyone should have a turn at
marshaling to be able to appreciate just
how much work goes in and how hard it is
to please everyone.
Our sincere thanks once
again for a really fab time.
Best Wishes
Darren, Renee, Amy And Reece Fitch x x x

I'm sure
there was more fish than that!
From the
Marshals...
The
Marshals Stephen, Viv & Oliver Harper & Ian
& Ann Nicol would like to pass on their
thanks to everyone who supported them on
their first Rally as Marshals. My thanks
especially to Ian who put in a lot of hard
work over the weekend (Yes Ian you will have
more to do next year ! don't go
on).
Not only was the weather absolutely superb,
but as Wendy said "Not a jet stream in the
sky". I don't know how we ordered it, but
somebody up above was being very kind. What
was so nice, was to see was the smiles on
the rally field along with sunburnt bodies,
I'm glad I was not the only one.
Thursday was a hard fun packed day pegging
out the vans with help from Ian "How many
more times have I got to more these pegs!!",
and thanks to the Brinkhoff gang for helping
to erect the marquee which turned out to be
a laugh with no instructions (Yes I will
agree with you Darren it does not have a
flat roof !!). I was even treated to a
wonderful Chilli.
Friday 10-30am on the button the first van
arrived by 3pm we were done and dustered bar
2, the wives' arrived to keep us on our
toes, 8pm was a welcome with tea and coffee
in the marquee.
Saturday up bright and early to meet at the
lakes for 0700hrs to draw pegs, setup ready
for the shout at 0800hrs to drown those
maggots in the adult match.
Lucky Darren was the first land a little
beauty 3lb carp followed by a 5lb 7oz common
carp, me i sat there for 3hrs twiddling me
thumbs watching the float bob up and down
then all hell broke loose and I landed a 1lb
carp followed a couple tiddlers another
small carp and to Darren's disgust 10
minutes from the end foul hooked a 6lb 2oz
mirror carp in the rear fin. From where I
sat I could see much action around the the
lake but you could hear splashes. Steve
Oliver worked hard to land 40 small fish.
The match finished at 1430hrs and the
results were:-
1st Darren Brinkhoff 8lb 6oz
2nd Stephen Harper 8lb 3oz
3rd Tony Peggs 5lb 8oz.
Next it was the turn of the juniors for 2hrs
and didn't they do well Lewis Brinkhoff
landed the first and never stopped, then it
was the turn of Nicole Brinkhoff who
screamed her head off as she held on to her
dad for dear life landing a 4lb 7oz Carp.
The match finished at 5pm with:
1st Nicole not only taking top honours for
the biggest fish of 4lb 7oz taking 1st place
overall as well (not bad considering she did
not want to fish)
2nd lewis Brinkhoff 3lb 7 oz and the most
species rudd, roach, common carp & perch
3rd Tyler Brinkhoff 11.5oz's. I think we can
safely say the Brinkhoff's wiped the floor!!
Good job there coming to the five centre's
fishing rally.
Finally it was time to pack up and return to
the vans quick wash something to eat and
over to the marquee for flag and some lovely
music new & old from Andy York.
Down came the marquee on Sunday
morning never seen it done so quick!! by 4pm
the vans had gone and what a shame it was
all over so quick.
Thanks once again for all your support
because without you ralliers us marshals
would not have a job.
Stephen, Viv &
Oliver Harper.
