We cleaned our caravan ready for this rally
during the week- what a waste of time!
It rained so much on the Friday that by the
time we got to the site our caravan looked
like it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks.
When we arrived we were warmly greeted by
Joy and then Paul showed us to our pitch,
the field was very soggy and thank heavens
that we were level as I am sure any ramps
would have sunk straight into the ground. We
got the van unhitched, secured the wheel
clamp and hitch lock, then disappeared into
the restaurant for lunch. After a wonderful
meal and a couple of pints we fetched our
water and got the van sorted out, then spent
the rest of day relaxing.
Saturday morning dawned after a night of
heavy rain and carried on with the same
theme all through the day with the odd ray
of sunshine managing to split the rain
clouds. We spent the day relaxing with a
good book and watching the rain wash the
muck off our van.
Saturday evening and it was time for another
meal in the restaurant, it was very busy and
if you hadn’t booked a table there was no
chance of getting a meal, this restaurant is
very popular and not just with us
caravanners. After our meal we retired to
our van and finished the night off with a
hand or two of cards.
Flagpole was held in the bar on the Sunday
morning chaired by Anthea and Brian where we
all thanked Paul, Joy & Andy and the
landlord for a wonderful rally.
Many thanks to our marshals Paul, Joy & Andy
for a wonderful relaxing weekend we hope to
come back again next year.
Needless to say the van got even dirtier on
the way home. What a dirty weekend !!
