20th
Pig Roast Rally
July 2009
|
 |
|
A big
thank-you note from your Chairman
A very big thank you to all the
members and friends who supported
the centre fete and contributed over
£ 2000.00 to the chosen charities,
The East Anglian Children’s Hospice
and The East Anglian Air Ambulance.
We are always amazed at the
generosity of the members who not
only give the prizes but then buy
tickets to win them back.
Again a very big thank you.

Sheena |

A
special message from Jan & Paul Fitch |
|
Jan and Paul would like to thank
Sandra and John Meyrick, Baz and
Lynne Roberts, Trev and Sue Smith
and Kim and Nigel Berry, who even
with two young lads, Jack and Max to
care for were still able to put in a
'full shift' above and beyond the
call of a normal rally, as did all
of us for this one. Big it up for DJ
Nige. We do ask a lot of them all as
co-marshals, but we wanted to make
the "20th" an extra special one, so
we hope you were not disappointed
and we also hope our brilliant
marshals have now recovered from it,
as we need them next year! |
 |
|
A big thank-you also to Val and
Dennis Mattocks with Bethany and
Jamie for taking over the running of
the fete and breaking the previous
record by a huge margin.
The biggest thanks must go to the
ralliers and their guests, who not
only donated most of the raffle
prizes and items for the tombolas,
etc but then went along and
spent loads of cash, respect.
Last but not least, all the
stallholders and their helpers
without whom there would be no fete.
With the proceeds from the fete, the
raffle of the cake so kindly donated
by our chairman Derek and Sheena,
breakfasts so ably prepared by the
boys, not without a degree of
assistance from the ladies and the
takings from the grand draw, a
fantastic total of £2024.84 was
raised on one weekend, awesome!
As per usual you all came along with
your saucepans to help prepare
potatoes and rice etc. which is a
great help to us, and special thanks
must go to Shirley Chenery and Beryl
and Brian Garrod who gave up their
Saturday morning to prepare salad
and vegetables in our "field
kitchen".
A special mention to our own family,
Ben & Ellie and Kate & Ash for
looking after us and Spike ( our
Westie ) doing the little jobs we
were too busy to do, except the
toilet, eh Ben!
If we have forgotten anybody who
helped in any way please accept our
apologies, it does not mean we are
not grateful for your help.
See you all next year.
