We arrived on Friday, went into the hall
Log fire burning, a welcome to us all.
The urn was hot; the choice of drinks was
grand
Sausage rolls and warm mince pies,
everything to hand.
The evening meal was quite superb
Mash and bangers, tasting of herbs.
Apple pie followed with delicious cream
What a lovely day, it passed by like a
dream.
Saturday
The fire and urn just as before
Plus chocolates, papers, bowls of fruit, who
could ask for more.
At midday we were given bowls of soup and
bread
Ralliers did the washing up, to help them
get ahead.
In the afternoon horse racing on the cards,
In spite of my encouragement, mine fell down
quite hard.
Our evening meal was tasty casserole of
beef,
Followed by lemon drizzle cake, gorgeous
beyond belief.
Then a glass of really fruity, sweet white
wine,
The company was perfect, the entertainment
fine.
Sunday
The
morning treats just as before,
We rested in the afternoon (I hope I didn’t
snore)
Our three course meal was served with ease,
There was not one rallier it failed to
please.
A choice of chicken, pork or lamb shanks
These marshals really deserve our thanks.
Monday
I’m sure today will please us all,
As we gather together once more in the hall.
Our marshals have really done us proud
Please give them applause, and make it loud.
