Our thanks go to Colin & Jan, Nick &
Carole & Marshals for a well organised
weekend, considering the amount of vans
& all their hard work they all put into
it. Their was plenty to see and do
including a Funfair, Punch & Judy Show,
Andy the Clown, & donkey rides of which
both the children enjoyed. Oliver took
great interest in the military display,
& Millie enjoyed the horses. The beer
tent was a well deserved rest at the
end!!
After two great days & a couple of worn
out children it was time to head
home. What a superb rally!! Can't wait
for Wings & Wheels. Well Done to one &
all.

Best Show of its Kind....
Once again the Steam Rally proved to be the
best show of this kind in England. The
exhibits grow more each year and go from
strength to strength. There were two new
notable attractions for me, one was the
display of speedway bikes and the other was
the motorbike and sidecar that was featured
in the Indiana Jones movie. Speedway seems
to be making a comeback, it was very strong
in my youth and died out during the 80’s but
it seems now as strong as ever. There were
exhibits of all types of transport, many of
which were not steam driven but they showed
mans innovative to invent through the ages
as technology evolved.
I would like to thank Mike & Pam, Norman &
Jill, Nick & Carol and Jerry, Heather &
Charlie for their assistance the whole
weekend. I would also thank Colin & Jan for
leading the team as I know that a rally this
large doesn’t just happen on the day but
months of planning goes into it to ensure it
runs smoothly.
In fact planning has begun for next years
rally already. I would also like to thank
all the members who attended for their
co-operation and participation in the
weekend. (The weather was grand too)

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
