It was a novelty to be rewarded with a huge
bright rainbow and a good old "Suffolk
soaking" after the long dry spring this
year. What a shame that we could not sit out
and enjoy this beautifully kept rally field
again this year. We put the awning up and
every hour we moved our chairs in and out of
the awning to catch the warm sun rays
between the showers.
We were surprised when the rally marshals
said there were under 20 units attending
this year, which seemed unusual for such a
lovely venue. We soon realised that the
majority had chosen the alternative
Brightlingsea Carnival Rally where more than
90 units attended. This did make for a
really quiet, friendly and relaxing weekend
at Haughley and we hope that it returns in
the programme next year.
Ian, Ann, Colin & Maggie made this rally a
three night rally for the first time this
year and it really did feel like we caught
up with some quality R & R.
