If the number of rally reports is a
reflection of how successful a rally is,
then the Halloween Rally must have been at
the "Top of the Pops" this year. Many thanks
to everyone for sending all the reports and
pictures.

What a
rally!!!!
We travelled back 338 miles from the Lake
District to attend this rally and boy was it
worth it!!!
Even though we didn’t arrive until midday on
the Saturday we had a thoroughly good time,
the marshals all worked incredibly hard
making the main hall look amazing for the
evening and the graveyard (side room) was
just incredible.
It was so good everybody wanted to go
through the graveyard again and again and
every time you visited you could not help
jumping – Brilliant.
Well done to all the marshals The Peddar,
Carter and Mattocks families.

Spooky
times...
We really enjoyed the Halloween rally this
year. There was a quiz on the Friday night
along with tea and coffee. The quiz was
really good although I think our team came
about 3rd from the bottom.
Saturday was a busy day for the children.
They had things to do in the hall in the
morning then a pumpkin hunt in the afternoon
and then it was trick or treating round the
vans.
We all went over to the hall for the evening
and found our tables then some people queued
up to go through the graveyard (which I
didn't go through but was told it was very
good) and then DJ Johnny started his disco.
After about an hour the fancy dress judging
took place and there was some really good
entries young and old.
Flagpole was held Sunday morning and also a
raffle. The Marshal's did a really good job
with their first rally as rally marshals and
hopefully it won't be their last, a big
thank you to you all.

A Howling Weekend...
We have just got back from the Treat or
Trick rally at Sutton and wanted to thank
our marshals for an absolutely brilliant
rally. The Halloween rally is well
established in the programme having been run
for many years by a variety of marshals.
Sarah and Andy were “persuaded” to take it
over at the Yabba Dabba Doo rally. Andy had,
shall we say, had a few too many and was
more than happy to take it over and,
apparently, spent most of that night awake
making plans! Sarah, Andy and Neil and
Gaynor were new to marshalling so to take on
an already established rally was a brave
task!
With the support of seasoned marshals, Den
and Val, the trio put on a fantastic
weekend. Not only was there tea and coffee
available on Friday evening but there was
also a Halloween-themed quiz for everyone to
enjoy.
Saturday morning saw more team games which
included apple bobbing, doughnut eating,
polo swapping and dressing the Mummy. All of
those who went along had a great time!
Saturday afternoon and the kids (and bigger
kids!) were invited to go on a pumpkin hunt
around the field. They were rewarded with
some sugary treats at the end.
THEN it was time for the big one! Trick or
Treating around the caravans! Our marshals
led all the children around to each caravan
where the ralliers had been very generous
and had goodies for all the children. Many
of the caravans were decorated and the
children in their Halloween costumes which
helped everyone get into the mood!
Saturday night and it was time for DJ Johnny
to entertain us all but not before the
ralliers had made their way through the
spook y grave yard. So much hard work and
planning had gone into getting this and the
hall ready and it looked brilliant. There
were some rather odd looking people hanging
around the grave yard ready to scare
everyone and once everyone had gone through
they all came out so that the ralliers could
see who they had been scared by.
Sunday morning saw Flagpole, with Paul and
Jan, followed by the raffle in aid of the
Junior Crew and presentation of the best
fancy dress prizes.
The marshals worked SO hard throughout the
whole weekend. For a first go at marshalling
it was fantastic and we can’t wait for next
year. Thank you Sarah, Andy, Gaynor, Neil,
Val, Den, James, Rachel, Jack, Bethany and
Jamie !!
Nigel, Kim, Jack
and Max
Our Marshals sum it
all up...
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all
those ralliers who helped out with the
Halloween rally, you were all great.
Well done to the "The French Connection" who
won the quiz on Friday evening. Also
congrats to all the teams who took part in
the Saturday morning games, I don't think
I've laughed so much, especially watching
the apple bobbin and mummy making games. The
"find a pumpkin" hunt was brilliant and the
children all behaved well when Trick or
Treating. We definitely heard lots of
"Thanks you's !".
So many people made a great effort in the
Fancy Dress parade and a huge well done to
Kayleigh and Elaine for winning their
respective groups. DJ Johnny certainly lived
up to form with a great night of music. The
Spooky Graveyard was appreciated by all who
dared to venture there.
Over the weekend we had a raffle in aid of
The Junior Crew, this managed to raise a
brilliant £126.00, so well done to all those
who bought tickets.
We had a great weekend, can't wait till next
year.

& Rachel Pedder.
