We arrived on Friday half expecting a wet
and soggy field but were pleasantly
surprised at how well the field had faired.
We were also greeted by a very happy marshal
who informed us that coffee/tea would be
served in the hall in half an hour.
Catching up with old and new friends was the
order of the day, although it was only a
week since we saw most of them. (Well a lot
can happen in a week, new caravans
purchased, new jobs etc…….)
Saturday dawned and the sun
shone, for most of it anyway. Chris managed
to turn a lovely shade of pink (sunburn) and
Lynda a lovely shade of blue (bruising from
the volley ball). In the afternoon the
marshals organised fun and games for all the
children small and not so small. Flying
planes was the highlight for me as I won a
chocolate bar. Nigel was well into it and
modified his plane and anyone else who would
let him. The children all enjoyed the
rounders and then the heavens opened.
Saturday
evening we all congregated in the hall for a
feast of bangers, mash and beans served by
some cowboys and cowgirls. Everyone got
into the spirit of things by dressing up.
This was followed by a quiz. The quizmaster
was very speedy and our brains had to work
quickly and our answer sheets filled out or
we would be disqualified.
Fun was
had by all and even if we didn’t come first
we certainly learnt lots of new things.
Flagpole
followed on Sunday with Gary taking the
chair. He made the mistake of asking for
help with his speech on Saturday evening.
(I’d had a glass or two) and with the help
of the rest of the group we managed to
compile his list of announcements including
birthdays for everyone, which he
purposefully read out. Sorry Gary.

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
