HIGH
FLYERS AT FLIXTON |
The weekend started out cool
and bright and we knew the forecast was for
showers. We took layers of clothing and a
bit of wet weather gear just in case.
On arrival the field was fine for caravans
although a bit soft for those without a 4x4.
So some were sited by Trev the Rev and his
Rangey ! Whilst most of the motorhomes
were sited in the car park and yard, we were
all grouped fairly closely together. |
We all made our own fun during the day on
Saturday and some stayed on site whilst
others went walking or to explore the area
by car. We opted for the latter and I was
amazed by the beauty of the local area. This
is not a spot that I had been to before and
although I knew exactly where Bungay was on
the map, I just had to take a few pictures
of the town.
|
Saturday evening was the
group dinner in the Flixton Buck. The
atmosphere of the pub was most friendly and
the food was superb ! We all tucked in
during the evening to a carvery meal with a
few glasses of wine. The evening was
completed by flagpole and a short, chilly
walk back to our vans.
|
Sunday morning was a bit of a
concern. We had a few showers followed by a
sharp frost and the field was a little
tricky in places. But Trev and Nick came to
the rescue and within a couple of hours,
everyone was off the field, hitched up and
parked in the pub car park, ready for a walk
round the air museum. Nick was in aeroplane
heaven and we all enjoyed his enthusiasm as
he named the exhibits without looking at the
information boards (clever chap !) So having
been fully educated, we started our engines
and made our safe way home.
What a lovely weekend we had.
Thanks to Dave &
Norma, Terry and Joy.

Please note that these
caravans were packed up and parked in the
public house car park after the rally whilst
we went into the air museum. We always obey
the 6 metre rule !
