Party Time at Sutton

Easter Rally

March 2008

Party Time at Sutton Easter...

Many thanks to the marshals, it was action packed from the bingo o n Thursday evening to the bowls final Monday morning.

The rally began on Thursday evening with Derrick's own brand of bingo for charity; much amusement for all.

Friday morning it was time for the hot crossed buns, tea and coffee and then a walk for the very hardy in the very cold wind. Friday evening was disco time with Chris Stammers; another good night.

Saturday morning, the first round of the bowls and it was over very quickly for some. Saturday evening was time to win a fortune at the horse racing. It didn't quite work like that but a good time was had by all. During the break, the teddy bears were auctioned for charity. I could not believe that teddy's could make so much money.

Sunday and it was time for breakfast. Derrick and David looked like snowmen as they cooked sausages on the barbeque but the results were great. It soon looked like Christmas rather than Easter as the snow began to settle.

At 4 O Clock it was the birthday tea party to mark the 40th brirthday of the Suffolk Centre which began at Easter 1968. I believe it was very cold that Easter but with no snow !

Sunday evening was party time with tables decorated in 1968 style and some members in 1960's style dress. Dancing was to "Mr J" band and cabaret by the Keith Youngs Dancers and Louise. What talent we have in the Centre !  Another great evening.

Monday morning saw the finals of the bowls competition. It was won by a couple from the Mid Anglia Centre.

Many thanks again for the best rally I have attended for a long time.

A very happy rallier.
