A holiday rally where fishing was just
one of the things to do !
Our thanks are
due to the hardworking marshals on the
Denver Holiday Rally. We had a mystery tour
and on the way back, we had a sing song, the
highlight of which was a rendition of the
laughing policeman sung by John Green.
A quiz night with our resident quizmaster
Chris Sanderson and wife Maggie. Bryan of
Note entertained on Wednesday evening and we
all thoroughly enjoyed it, and many of us
danced the night away.
On Friday John Head (the main marshal)
treated us to a sing song and old time music
on the rally field. We also celebrated
several birthdays, one being Trev's 50th not
due until October 5th, but he will be in
America, so Sue provided delicious cake for
us all.
The weather was kind as well, what more
could anyone ask for.
Our thanks go to John & Hazel, Trev & Sue,&
Joe & Sheila.

We have
just returned from a lovely week at the
Lakeside Caravan Park at Denver, not far
from the Denver windmill and the sluice.
On the Saturday evening we all met at the
marshals vans for tea and coffee and hot
chocolate (I thought it might catch on).
Sunday was a free day to do as you pleased.
Monday morning was a free morning but in the
afternoon (for those who wanted to attend)
we had a mystery coach tour. We where taken
through the grounds of Sandringham and then
onto Wells Next to Sea for some lovely fish
and chips and of course a quick drink. The
coach picked us up again at 7pm and off we
went through Sherringham, Cromer, Wroxham
and then past the Norwich football ground
but by this time it was dark so couldn't see
much. We were entertained on the coach by
singing especially John and his laughing
policeman, he had us all in stitches. We
arrived back on site about 10pm and then to
bed we went.
Tuesday day time was do as you please and
there was a quiz night hosted by Chris and
Maggie, there were 5 teams in all and our
team came 3rd which wasn't too bad as we
only had 4 people and most of the other
teams had more. It was great fun and a big
thank you to Chris and Maggie.
Wednesday was also a do as you please day
but we had entertainment for the evening,
Bryan of Note, some people danced the
evening away and we had a few songs from
Brian Gordon as well, so again another
enjoyable evening.
Friday was
a free as you please day but in the evening
we where entertained by John Head and his
disco to help Trevor celebrate his birthday
(a special one), we all had a piece of
birthday cake which was very nice, but as
usual the disco came to an end all too
quickly and the gazebo where taken down and
packed away for another year.
We had flagpole Saturday evening with Jack
peeping out of John's van making sure
everything was ok and that John was chairing
the rally ok. But as always good things come
to an end and we all got ready Sunday to
leave the site to make our ways home.
We would like to give a big thank you to all
the marshals for making it a lovely week
away for us.

I would like to thank John,
Hazel, Sue, Sheila and Joe and everyone at
Denver for making this such a successful
rally and for starting off my birthday
celebrations on a high.
A special thanks to John for getting all his
technical equipment out again and proving he
has not lost his talent and style. The
Friday night entertainment was fantastic.
As I said at flagpole, I am determined to
make my party last for a month and this week
has been a great week to remember. Thank you
for my lovely card and birthday cake, pity
about the picture on it though ! (just
joking)
