The weekend of the 18th
to the 20th May 2007 brought us
this fine rally. With a swift change of
marshals at the last minute Derrick and
Lesley were well supported by Norma and
David Godfrey and Joy Anderson. Friday
bought us a nice day for all the vans to be
tucked away on the lush grass of Crowfield
Village Hall. Once all were gathered tea
and coffee was served in the awning of the
Stammers family then it seemed to get cold
and most sauntered away to the vans .Next
day we awoke to wonderful blue skies. During
the day folks did their own thing, some
worked on caravans spending hard earned
money to keep the van at a safe distance
from the towing vehicle. Others went to
Stowmarket Caravans to spend even more money
on a fixed bed.
Saturday
evening brought us all together in the hall
to have a super meal of three courses
including the sausages !
Our centre chairman Dave Totman and Tracy
took flagpole and welcomed two new families
on first rallies these were the Midwinter
family and the Read family we hope that they
will continue to rally with us.
The disco
was then lit up with the youngest DJ to
entertain us namely Jake ably assisted by
Chris Stammers. The music had us all up
dancing and we were given a cabaret of
Fireman Sam by the multi talented superman
suited David Midwinter. The disco carried on
into the wee hours and all enjoyed strutting
their stuff.
Sunday morning saw Derrick back playing with
the timeless ever popular game of Crowfield bingo.
Joy sold the tickets and assisted Derrick
reading the numbered balls he blamed his
bifocals but we think that it was the
medicine taken for his cough the night
before! Caravaneers did not rush away as
most were happy to enjoy the warm sunshine
for as long as they could. This ended
another enjoyable rally, thank you to all
the marshals.

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
