The weekend was cold and crisp and we were
parked behind the Elizabeth Hotel on the
tarmac car park. There was time to relax and
enjoy the company, catch up with our summer
plans and go for a brisk country walk to
enjoy the fresh outdoors.
The Chairman of The Institute for the Motor
Industry (IMI), Peter Corder offered an
invitation to Suffolk Centre members to join
them at their regional annual dinner dance.
Not only did it sound like a good idea, it
turned out to be an excellent weekend and
quite a change to be dressed in black tie.
Our table even had a chef that you may
recognise !
We had paid £70 for two tickets for the
Copdock dinner dance and on arrival to the
site Derrick had a very big smile as he
brought me my envelope. "This is the
cheapest rally fee ever !" he said. And he
was right, just £1.50 to pay !
The dinner was excellent, the music superb,
and the money raised for charity topped
£1,000.
We would like to thank Peter and Rose Corder
for their kind invitation this year. Thanks
also to Derrick and Lesley Stammers for
organising the rally and everyone involved
for a great weekend.
