This rally was attended by approx 20 vans
and had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere from
the start. We all set up our vans whilst
"the boys" Derek and Gordon" set up the
target bowls in the centre of the rally
field.
On Saturday morning the sun was shining and
ralliers got together on the field for the
target bowls competition. It turned out to
be a lot of fun, with even the expert
bowlers having difficulty with the slightly
bumpy grass and it was great to see the vice
chairman challenge. Brian and Trev were in
the first round, the result was close and
Trev admitted that he was very surprised
with a lucky bowl that scored 25.
The final was between Jan and Colin and
everyone cheered when Jan managed to beat
Colin with a "bullseye" shot. Jan receives
the engraved trophy to keep until next year.
Well done !!
Saturday evening
we all brought our teddies to sit on the
beautifully constructed cruise ship. We all
sat down for a teddy bear's supper and then
played games. Visitor, Joe Holmes (who had
not brought his van this weekend) ended up
with flour all over his face ! I am
assured that this was not fixed and
everyone had a really good laugh with simple
games that took us all back to the old days
of rallying.
As we left, Derek and Pam
mentioned that this was the last time they
would be marshals. All their friends and
club members would like to thank them for
running dozens of successful rallies over
the years. We hope that we will see them out
and about very soon.
Thanks go to Derek, Pam, Gordon and Janet for
a lovely weekend.

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
