Children's Christmas Party 2006

SANTA VISITS HALLOWTREE IN IPSWICH.

"Hallowtree" should have perhaps been renamed "Christmastree" for the weekend!!

What a fab weekend our marshals put on for us.  Tea and coffee (with chocolate biscuits) on Friday night where the children helped decorate the hall and made a big Merry Christmas banner.

Saturday afternoon saw the Children's party.  The hall looked great and the marshals and friends had dressed up to add to the festivities.

The children all arrived and were welcomed by the team. There were party games and dancing which all the children seemed to enjoy. There was tea for all. Then came the best part of the afternoon!! Uncle Den advised that Santa was delayed due to speeding but, not too long later, he made his grand entrance!! All the children were called up to receive their gifts from Santa.

Jack was more than pleased with this selection box and cool car and Max with his selection box and teddy bear.

Games were fun and children had to wrap up as a parcel

All that dancing is hard work

The tea made Jack very happy !

There's just time for a cuppa !

All the children were waiting for a special visitor...

Then Santa arrived with his sled laden with Christmas gifts

Each of the children were called in turn

All the children opened their presents and Santa went back to the North Pole

Saturday night saw our marshals organise yet another fantastic evening. After flagpole, we all had a ploughman's meal followed by another competition and dancing.  I've now worked out what DYHWIH is!

Sunday morning dawned and what a beautiful sunny day.  The marshals invited us all to join them on a walk.  It was lovely (although Max was looking a little uncomfortable in his baby carrier)!!

Well done to the marshals - Den, Gary, Val, Jean and all their children and helpers. It really was a great weekend.
