The
spring weather lasted all week and Saturday
was one of the warmest days of the season so
far, with lots of vans having a lunchtime
barbeque. Particularly Nigel, who went to
Bawdsey in the morning and came back with
half a sheep !! (just a joke).
Friday evening tea and coffee in the hall
was ended by a very crispy white frost
outside and the gas bottles needed to be
topped up ready to keep the vans warm. It
was a very hard frost but by 9am the sun was
high in the sky and the last of the mist had
gone. So out came the chairs, wind breaks
and we all agreed that this was what we had
been waiting for all winter.
The weekend was very friendly and relaxed.
There were lots of children and there was
plenty of safe space for them to enjoy,
including the playground and the large
farmer's field behind the vans. Derek was
right when he commented that the children
are a credit to our centre. The atmosphere
was lovely. We walked backwards and
forwards, up and down the field, to try and
determine what the pictures people had drawn
in their caravan windows were. It was also a
great way of saying hello to everyone that
we had not seen for a while as well as enter
the competition. The Berry's and McCartney's
came out on top... clever lot !!
Saturday
evening, Plasma Disco entertained us with a
mix of music to please everyone. The evening
was great fun and an opportunity for some of
us to get up and jiggle the night away.
Others chose to drink all the malt whiskey !
(mention no names)
Sunday morning flagpole was
chaired by Derek & Sheena Pannell and Derek
made us all laugh with his cheeky jokes.
Tony was still not encouraged to say
anything on the mike though, so we musk keep
up the cheeky comments in future !
This rally was a terrific weekend that
demonstrated everything that a rally should
be. Relaxing, friendly, interesting, fun,
and a really good value weekend.
Well done to our rally marshals, Tony,
Sharon, Vince and Debbie.
From everyone
at the far end of the field... Beryl &
Brian, Joe & Sheila, Darren & Rene,
Trev & Sue & friends.

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
