Last year the
rally was cancelled but in 2009 we were back
!!
Congratulations
to Steve and Jo Oliver and their team for
winning best in class and being presented
with a 1st rosette and a gold rimed silver
plate for the
Suffolk Centre Carnival Float !
Steve and Joanne would like to thank those
people who came along to help with the
decorating of the float which was entered in
the Brightlingsea carnival on behalf of the
Suffolk Centre during the Brightlingsea
carnival rally.
It gives Jo and I great pleasure to be able
to report that the Suffolk Centre float was
awarded first prize once again, a credit to
all who participated, however just seeing
the pleasures’ that the children, young and
old, of the Suffolk Centre were experiencing
as they took part would have been reward
enough.
We look forward to your support next year.
Steve and Jo
SCCC Carnival Marshals
We would like to pass on our sincere
thanks to the Brightlingsea marshals -
John Payne / Ann Kemp , John And Hazel
Head, Pete and Tizzie Browning and not
forgetting our fantastic carnival
Marshals Steve and Jo Oliver who got the
Suffolk Centre a first place in there
first attempt at being Carnival Marshals
("WELL DONE" ! ! )
It was believe it or not our first
chance as a family to be able to attend
this rally. We hence, thought the
marshals were on a wind up mission when
they told us the "silly" price on our
arrival (how do you do it? ). We were
all welcomed on Friday evening with the
crem del la crem biscuits , coffee and
tea. Saturday morning my family and I
along with Denis Mattocks family, Sheena
McCartney and some other children
assisted Jo and Steve Oliver getting the
float dressed up for the Grand tour of
Brightlingsea, once we had been awarded
"Gold" it was off to raise lots of money
for charity around the lovely
picturesque town. We were all glad
though to get back to our vans late Sat.
to a nice cup of tea etc !
Sunday morning it was up again for the
children to enter the crabbing comp. I
think though some adults tried to trick
the judge Brian Southgate, when it came
to who had caught the most crabs,
luckily though Brian had been to
Spec-Savers and his sharp eye noticed
the antics going on ! We never realised
just how lovely Brightlingsea was
despite getting caught up in a sharp
shower or two Thanks to the Mattocks
family talking us into going for a
evening walk with them along with the McCartneys
! Once again many thanks for
a lovely week end, one not to be missed
ever again. :
Best Wishes

membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook
is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety
Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.
Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the
rally field in future.
From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre
recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame.
It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire
blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check
the batteries in your smoke alarm.
