Just about anyone who could take part in
this Fun Run did. Suffolk had a very good
turnout, and we all crossed the finish line,
each receiving a certificate and medal.
The course was flat with some small inclines
and long grass. It was quite wet in some places
from all of the rain but still ok to run
on. The distance was 2.7 miles.
The race started with the serious runners at the
front. We all ran from the
start line, with the faster runners disappearing
into the distance. Many of us were walking and
then running in order to keep going. Knowing we had
35 minutes to complete the Fun Run, put us
under pressure to run more than we had
originally planned.
As we all began to cross the finishing line
at different intervals, the cheering
spectators made us want to run until you
had crossed the line although walking was
all we really wanted to do.
We all achieved what we had set out to do
and that was to have fun.
Tug of War
Having won the regional Tug of War
competition on numerous occasions in the
past, the Suffolk Centre team
have a reputation to keep. As you can see
they were on top form.
The Tug of War pulled in the crowds again
and the sun actually shone for a while. Six
teams took part in a Round Robin
competition. The Suffolk Centre team
coached by John Taylor were in good spirits
to give it a good go. They took two ends
off the Mid Anglia Centre, and overall came
fourth. Well done to all.

Men's Volleyball
The men had been practicing
their skills at the Trimley and Hintlesham
rallies, so they gave their best for the
Suffolk Centre.

Lawn Darts
John and Nina Taylor, Bethany Mattocks and
Naomi Smith took part in the Lawn Darts
competition against the Midlands Centre;
having never played before enjoyed the
challenge, but unfortunately got beaten.
They will give it another try next year, and
with some practice hope to do better.
