The Missing Pussycat

The Story of Shimmy - The Missing Pussycat.

It has been a while since we heard about any of our pets. There are often dogs on the rally field but never cats. There are wild rabbits, birds and if you are lucky you may see a cheeky squirrel near your caravan. But what happens to our other pets when we go on a rally ?  Maybe like me, you have someone look after your cat, hamster, gerbil or budgerigar.

I have three Burmese cats and a wonderful grown up daughter that stays at home whilst we are away in our caravan. So I don’t have to worry about my pets. A couple of years ago we went to the Pig Roast Rally at Woolverstone and we had quite a surprise.

When I was packing my caravan at home, I left the door open for a while. Little did I know that my little “Shimmy” had made herself comfortable inside our caravan. As the afternoon went by, we decided to beat the traffic and set off to the rally. The weather was fine and the short trip was made easy as we only live a few miles away. We were pitched by our marshal Paul Fitch and we started unpacking our van.

BUT WHAT WAS THAT NOISE !!??   Meeeeeoooowwww !!   A very sad and frightened little call from “Shimmy” our little lilac Burmese girl. She had arrived at the rally with us and had a ride in our caravan. What a shock when we opened the door and saw her there. There was a happy ending because she was fine and well so we took her straight home and reunited her with her friends Ellie & Lily.

So now we always check the caravan before leaving home.
