As a team we gave it our all. Most of the team
had not played for 20+ years and we did
extremely well and had a good laugh at the
same time.
Our first game we lost to South Lancs 21 –
0, but still kept laughing and smiling at
the same time. Our next game we had one
player missing, so this is where we found an
innocent spectator, Tracy Totman. We had
all of her nails taped up and stripped her
of all her jewellery so that she could play.
We told her she would be fine and not much
happened in the end that she would be
playing in. She was Goal Keeper and it
transpired that everything happened in the end that
Tracy was
in. We managed to keep the score in double
figures but again lost 18 – 0. Our play was
improving vastly and we now had tactics –
‘keep doing what we were doing’.
Our support on the sideline was vast and
probably the best support any of the other
teams could of wished for. Our next game
was against our local rivals – Mid Anglia.
The game was fun and was probably one of our
best. The score was creeping up but we kept
it from going into double figures. Even Mid
Anglia was starting to wish that we could
get just one goal so we could say we had
done it. We had several chances, Tracy then
Rosanna, then back to Tracy. At last one
went in scored by Rosanna. I think
everybody cheered, even Mid Anglia.
The game was enjoyed by all, and we all had
a good laugh.
