Chairman's Welcome

Message from the Suffolk Centre Chairman.

As I start my second year as your Chairman I look forward to what I hope will be another successful year for the Centre. It gives me great pleasure to present the 2010 rally programme.

Again we are not hosting any celebration rallies in the coming year but, looking through the programme, we have a good mix of old favourites and new venues.

My thanks must go to Nigel and I am sure a lot of assistance from Kim, for all his work in preparing and producing the rally handbook. My thanks also go to the rally marshals who give their time to run the rallies and the land owners.

If you are a new member receiving a rally handbook for the first time and you are not sure what it is all about give me a ring and have a chat or, if there is a rally near you, call in and see us. You will be made very welcome.

The National Rally this year is at Weston Park, Shropshire, a lovely venue and I hope many of you will make the long trip to support the Centre. The Regional Rally this year is hosted by the North Essex Centre at Gt Sailing near Braintree from 2nd to 4th June.

I have decided again this year to support just one charity, this again being the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

My Chairman's Rally will be "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party" at the Mid Suffolk Showground, Stonham Barns, 24th to 27th June. We will be holding our Centre Charity Fete at the Pig Roast Rally at Woolverstone on 23rd to 25th July.

I would like to thank last year's Committee for their support and hard work and look forward to working with the new Committee.

Finally, Sheena and I look forward to seeing you on the rally field in the coming year and wish you all a very happy caravanning year.

Kind regards
Derek Pannell

Centre Members
The Caravan Club's new computer systems is still being upgraded and is not currently notifying the Centre of your new or renewed membership. Please accept our apologies if your rally handbook is delayed. If you wish to attend a rally, please contact a member of Committee for rally marshal details. Contacts on page 675 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.

Fire Safety
Please ensure you have read the Fire Safety Procedure on page 635 of your Sites Directory & Handbook.

Rally Marshals may not have fire extinguishers available on the rally field in future.

From October 2009 it will be a Suffolk Centre recommendation that all caravans attending a rally should have a "fire bucket" filled with water adjacent to their "A" frame. It is recommend that you have a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in your caravan in case of emergency and regularly check the batteries in your smoke alarm.
