Purpose, simply to promote caravanning activities, whilst keeping the Caravan Club informed of views, opinions and activities from the area. It is not limited to rallies (these are covered and controlled by centres), but covers Club Sites, Certified Locations and other services which are provided by the club.

Structure, The officers are elected annually (Chairman, Vice-chairman, Treasurer and Secretary), each centre (Suffolk, Norfolk, South Essex, Mid Anglia and North Essex) are allowed to send two representatives, co-options are possible. Normally a representative of the Caravan Club is in attendance at the meetings, which are held about 6 times a year.

The region is entitled to send 2 delegates to Club Council meetings.

Naturally some of the items covered will be of a confidential nature, so these matters cannot be included here. Communication is a two way process, we intend to show relevant or interesting matters here, should you have a comment or opinion these can be sent to the Hon Secretary.

ROUND PLANTATION CLUB SITE AT MILDENHALL

Some members may be aware that the Caravan Club has trialled running some club sites with the use of volunteers. In previous years one of the selected sites was Stamford, however this year the site is no longer under the control of the Caravan Club.

The Caravan Club has decided that this is an extremely worthwhile scheme to ensure that some Club Sites remain available for members use.

The club have decided therefore to replace Stamford with the Club site at Mildenhall, and seek the assistance  of members to act as volunteer wardens. Training of course will be given.

Should you be interested if you contact the secretary he will ensure that your details are forwarded.

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is estimated that there are 500k touring caravans in the UK, 115k motor caravans and 50k trailer / folding caravans. With over 4 million caravans in Europe plus 920k motor caravans. Over 50% of touring and motor caravanners are members of the club.

The Caravan Club network of CL’s stands at approximately 2,600.

Fancy a weekend in London then try the Club site at Abbey Woods, located close to transport, and recently re-furbished, or closer to home why not have a quiet weekend on the Queen’s estate at Sandringham.

AGM

The Regional AGM will be held in November. Please check your Centre rally programme for dates and venue. The AGM is open to all, as is the rally. Please contact the Hon Secretary.

The region is grateful to centres for allowing the inclusion of these details. The views represented here are not necessarily the views of the centre, the region or the Caravan Club.
